Agri Labour Australia is an award-winning Australian company with clients in every State and Territory. Proudly representing major agribusiness, large primary producers, rural operators and local farmers - we are more than a recruitment agency. Founded on our firsthand knowledge of the land and dedicated to the ongoing success of our client's businesses and our candidate's careers, you can rely on us for expertise, advice and support.
Our client is looking for ten people to take on the challenging role of vegetable trimmers on their commercial farm located in Forth, Tasmania.
Commencing ASAP and running for a six month (approx.) contract, you'll be required to work eight to nine hours each day, five to six days a week - some Sundays may also be required (occasionally).
The role sees you using handheld knives to trim roots and leaves from swedes and beetroot. The work is physically demanding - requiring you to be on your knees for most of your shift and be working in field under all weather conditions, including frost and rain.
Pay is dependent on the crop - beetroot trimming is paid at $23.89/hour, while swede trimming has a combination of hourly rates and bin rates - with a minimum of $60/bin (increasing to $140/bin, dependent on crop quality).
Training is provided to all new workers and onsite accommodation is available for just $100/week.
This may not be the easiest job you'll do but for those who do it well, it will provide you with a great reference and increase your opportunities for future roles with our organisation.
