During the Commercial Cookery Apprenticeship, you will be working full time 38 hours per week while studying a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.

You would be gaining experience in the workplace with one of our host employers. Duties may include but not limited to:

  • Planning, cooking and organising foods
  • Preparing foods including appetisers, stocks, sauces, meats, seafood and salads
  • Plan menus and work out food labour costs
  • Order food, kitchen supplies and equipment
  • Any other tasks requested by the host employer

Applicants will ideally meet the following criteria:

  • Be eligible to complete an apprenticeship
  • Be well presented, enthusiastic, reliable and punctual
  • Be motivated with a positive attitude
  • Drivers licence and own transport


  • Long term career possibilities for the right candidate
  • East Coast Apprenticeships Field Officer assigned for support during the traineeship
  • Gaining a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery qualification whilst being paid on the job
