The Position

St John of God Subiaco Hospital is a world-class 578 bed private hospital offering the highest quality medical and surgical care in a warm and welcoming environment.

We are seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced Clinical Nurses to apply for three Perioperative Clinical Educator roles currently available within our divisional Learning & Development team.

We Are Seeking

  • Clinical Educator – PACU – 38 hours per fortnight
  • Clinical Educator – Anaesthetics – 38 hours per fortnight
  • Clinical Educator – Perioperative Discovery Programme – 48 hours per fortnight

Clinical Educators are responsible for the delivery, assessment and evaluation of programs and activities that promote and reflect best practice standards.

Current registration with AHPRA and the ability to communicate and transmit knowledge effectively using appropriate methods and tools are essential for further consideration.

The successful candidates will have a post graduate qualification and/or senior clinical experience in either Perioperative Services, PACU and/or Anaesthetics.

A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent or progression towards same will be viewed favorably.

  • Currently registered as a Health Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Well-developed interpersonal, communication and mentoring/coaching skills with the ability to engage with a diverse workforce.
  • Effective conflict resolution, negotiation and problem solving skills.
  • Well-developed understanding and demonstrated application of adult learning principles.
  • Well-developed time management and organisational skills.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement and relevant Accreditation and licensing processes and associated links to learning and development programs that promote quality service delivery and safety.
  • Working knowledge of Learning Management Systems, blended learning strategies and a range of computer packages
