The Infrastructure Services and Development team supports the University campuses through a range of strategic and operational functions relating to the University's environment and campuses services, ensuring the Work Health and Safety compliance is achieved and maintained.

The Opportunity

The Facilities Management team is seeking to appoint an Engineering Services Officer to provide engineering services across the Launceston and Burnie campuses. The successful candidate will be responsible for building infrastructure services related to electrical, mechanical, fire, security, gas, and hydraulic.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide advice on aspects of building services infrastructure for works and maintenance.
  • Operate and tune building services in consultation with external providers.
  • Assist with maintaining reliability of various systems and infrastructure.
  • Provide expert advice in the development and implementation of university strategies, policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Deliver and manage minor capital and operating projects.

Your Application

To be successful in the role, your application will need to demonstrate;

  • A degree qualification in electrical/mechanical/building services engineering with relevant practicing experience and/or operational experience.
  • Knowledge of and experience in building services.
  • Knowledge of property management and operation.
  • Experience in property-based software systems.
  • Understanding and use of modern project management methods.


Appointment to this role will be at HEO 6 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $100,345 comprising base salary within the range of $79,093 to $85,765 plus 17% superannuation.
