JOB DESCRIPTION

OUR STORY

Do you want to lead the B2B operations team at an electric vehicle startup growing 600% year-on-year and take it through to IPO while also reducing carbon emissions globally?

Zoomo is leading the charge to enable our vision of people and things moving within cities using the most efficient vehicle for their trip. Saving money, time and energy... whilst having fun. To that end we are building the world’s most convenient, affordable and safe e-bike platform, starting with a focus on last mile delivery.

In the short span since the founders went full time in 2019, Zoomo has raised over $30M from some of the world’s savviest investors and built world leading utility e-bikes and a disruptive business model for their distribution and maintenance.

We're a fast growing start up with a global footprint across the US, Australia, and the UK and are now the trusted partner to some of the world's leading and most innovative companies like Uber, DoorDash, Domino’s, Pizza Hut, Wholefoods, Gorillas, Just Eat, Getir and many more.

THE ROLE

We are looking for a Strategy Operations Manager to represent the UK & Europe GM at our Sydney HQ, working while they sleep, moving mountains and roadblocks to ensure they can move fast and deliver on the region’s ambitious growth targets.

The UK business will 10x+ in a year in size in 6 months. In that time, we’ve launched new business lines, new pricing and products and new systems. All of these require the EU & UK team to work very closely with functions sitting centrally in Sydney. This role is designed to give our GM there a lot more leverage across two time zones and make hyper growth sustainable for both you and them. You will report into the GM, but you are expected to act like a GM day to day and be the contact at HQ for all questions and projects related to the EU & UK.

You should be comfortable working in a fast growth start-up and being able to independently be responsible for achieving major milestones like closing major deals, launching new products, and designing our operating model, as well as being across all of the key regional performance metrics saving millions of pounds for the business.

Working in Operations at Zoomo will give you exposure to a range of different verticals (sales, operations, support, commercial and roles (working closely with the heads of all major functions and regions). This gives you breadth and depth of experience unrivalled in almost any other job and offers you the chance to have a huge impact on Zoomo’s success. Roles and responsibilities include:

  • Provide weekly and monthly updates on EU & UK performance & priorities to LT and Chiefs
  • Be a vital conduit between central teams and the EU. A lynchpin who communicates and champions EU and UK priorities in a way that ensure the EU stays on track for its ambitious growth targets
  • Manage the pipeline of key EU & UK cross functional projects and initiatives e.g. signing our first 750 e-moped deal with JET
  • Own and deliver key UK & EU Projects e.g. Enterprise Customer Success Strategy for the EU
  • Serve as thought partner and sounding board to GM to help them drive data-driven decisions on operations and growth on a day-to-day basis.
  • Work closely with the regional Business Operations teams to ensure we are sharing operational best practice across regions and they are being supported by central function teams

Requirements

  • Influential busy LT members and drive complex cross functional projects to a result
  • Tenacious in following up and staying top of deadlines agreed.
  • An over-communicator who has strong presentation skills and the ability to articulate, present and debate recommendations with all levels of management
  • Takes things on and owns the performance of UK & EU market - its success and failures will reflect directly on you and the GM
  • High energy and resilience on late night, early morning calls (~3 days a week, you’d need to overlap significantly working hours significantly with the UK and attend the GM meeting 7am Sydney time Tuesday)
  • Previous experience (Management consulting, start-ups operations, chief of staff type roles, industry experience e.g. food Delivery, logistics, etc)
  • Strong analytical chops and ability to problem-solve and understand key drivers of the business.
  • Ability to develop a point of view quickly based on LOTS of inputs and potential pathways forward using both internal and external data
  • A do-er. We can’t afford to – this is a land grab!
  • Someone who lives Zoomo’s values.

Benefits

  • Working at a high growth established start-up with a strong management team and global presence
  • The chance to be part of an organisation in hyper-growth with plenty of opportunity for personal development
  • Flexible workplace with a team of extraordinary, motivated and fun co-workers
