The Opportunity

Reporting to the Area Sales Manager, the role will be responsible and accountable for the defined territory by maximizing uptake of Smith & Nephew products and brands through maintaining and developing relationships with customers.


The Key Focus Areas of the Role

  • Responsibility for achieving and exceeding sales budget for assigned state territory and meeting Key Performance Indicators as set by Area Sales Manager. Ensure the annual product portfolio sales targets are achieved in assigned territory.
  • Provide input to the Area Sales Managers on the determination of the annual sales budget and strategy for your assigned territory.
  • Develop and manage short and long-term account strategies that support S+N SPM strategies and objectives.
  • Implement and maintain an account management process that includes account assessment, account prioritization, strategy development and execution, and regular account reviews with the Area Sales Managers.
  • Create accurate sales forecasts and provide timely monthly reporting to the Area Sales Manager on the actual to forecast.
  • Actively monitor market trends including competitor activities and work out relevant strategies with the Regional Sales Manager to mitigate risks to achievement of sales forecast.
  • Influence, coach and support the clinical support members in providing exceptional case support and training.
  • Adopt a continuous improvement approach to all work processes, by utilizing sales automation tools to improve workflow, time management & communication.
  • Maintain a working environment in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2008, and as defined in the quality manual and associated quality procedures.





The Requirements Of The Successful Candidate

  • Tertiary qualifications in science or business related discipline is essential
  • A background in orthopaedics or arthroplasty is required
  • Proven experience in clinical support or exceptional sales experience in related medical devices is essential
  • Strong selling skills
  • Strong understanding of products and industry
  • Good understanding of the Australian public and private healthcare system
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office
  • Ability to interpret financial and clinical data
  • Highly focused on exceeding customer expectations
  • Ability to follow sales plans and to expand the use of products and service within the assigned territory
  • Travel: 80% Local, 20% Away
