Business Support Officer – Planning & Compliance

The Integrated Planning Division of Tamworth Regional Council predominantly deals with land use strategic planning. This includes the creation of high-level land use strategy and the processing of planning proposals (amendments to the LEP). The Division also liaises with NSW State Government agencies regarding matters of state planning policy.

The purpose of this position is to provide a comprehensive range of administrative services to assist in the delivery of the updated Tamworth Regional Local Environmental Plan (TRLEP) in order to deliver Blueprint 100 priorities, including but not limited to:

  • Preparing a broad range of documentation for the team
  • Developing and implementing processes to maintain accurate records
  • Undertaking project work including assisting with the review, development and implementation of a range of processes and procedures
  • General administration work for the Directorate from time to time (when required)

The successful appointee will bring to this role demonstrated experience in a similar position coupled with the following:

  • A Certificate III in Business Administration or similar OR equivalent relevant experience
  • Strong attention to detail as well as outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • A self-motivated nature along with high levels of initiative and the ability to meet deadlines
  • The ability to work well as part of a team and autonomously as required
  • Intermediate to Advanced MS Office skills
  • A current driver licence

This position has been classified as a Grade 8 role with a salary range of $1,047.30 to $1,133.30 plus 10% superannuation for 35 hours work per week.

Flexible working arrangements may be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.
