About the role

The primary function of this position is to provide high quality, safe & effective clinical care under supervision to patients requiring medical services at Calvary Mater Newcastle.
This position would suit an unaccredited medical registrar or Overseas Trained Physician requiring top up training/supervised practice (as approved by AHRPA and RACP).

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills (at the required level of competency) and judgement and expertise.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • A professional attitude and preparedness to participate in after- hours overtime and on-call rosters.

It is the major cancer care centre for the Hunter New England Local Health District, delivering more than 320,000 occasions of outpatient services and in a excess of 16,000 inpatient treatments per year.

Calvary Mater Newcastle provides an Emergency Department open 24 hours seven days a week an Intensive Care Unit, and extensive Palliative Care services including the Mercy Hospice.
