How will I Help?

Join our 1,400 strong Mortgage Operations Team and help approximately 245,000 customers buy a home every year. As a Credit Assessor you will be responsible for assessing home loan applications received from our third Party Broker channel. You will be accountable for clarifying loan requirements, structuring the loan and completing the approval processes in conjunction with Westpac credit policy. In this role you will assess home loan applications received from brokers where customer derives income as a PAYG Worker, Sole Trader, Partnership, Trust or Company.

What do I need?

To be considered you must have previous experience working in credit either as an Assessor or a role with a strong focus on Credit Assessment - this is essential. Experience working with a large credit delegation authority is an advantage. You will be a solution focused professional with exceptional customer service skills and have high attention to detail in all the work you do. Professional Qualifications in Accounting, finance or Business are looked upon favourably.

In addition, the below skills will be highly regarded:

  • Experience in credit or exposure to quality assurance, balance sheets or credit structures
  • Previous experience in banking, lending, accounting and/or financial services
  • Well-developed written/verbal communication
