Position specific responsibilities and requirements:

The Supervisor will be embedded in the owner's construction team reporting to the Superintendent. Responsibilities include coordinating the construction contractor's activities on site, specific duties include:

Participation in the site safety initiatives and procedures and embracing the project safety culture.
Monitoring of the contractor’s daily works, including quality inspection, daily progress reporting and leading indicator safety leadership activities.
Ensuring efficient execution of the E&I scope by guiding the contractor’s teams in the installation, inspection and testing of systems, and identifying and correcting deficiencies.
Assist in interactions with mine operations and other contractors.
Monitor and review risk register development and implementation of mitigations.
Review of construction permits.
Review of the contractor's work packaging and detailed planning.
Liaise with supervisors from other areas re milestone interfaces.
As a Section 44 Appointed Person, ensure compliance with the requirements of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act and Mines Safety Inspection Regulations.

Position required competencies and skills:

Relevant experience in brownfields industrial work sites with proven experience managing contractors.
Proven knowledge and experience in project planning and resource management
Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience in reading and understanding complex construction schedules be advantageous
Highly developed analytical and problem solving skills
Sound communication and interpersonal skills to enable clear and concise communication of plans
Experienced in Risk management processes including facilitation of construction risk assessment workshops.

Position required qualifications:

Electrical Trade or Tertiary qualification will be highly regarded.
Minimum of C class manual drivers licence

Position desired experience, competencies and qualifications:

Previous experience in owners team or EPCM environment would be advantageous.
Previous experience with behavioural based safety management systems would be advantageous.
5+ year construction supervision experience
