Lake Macquarie City Council has a number of opportunities for experienced People Support Advisors to join our highly welcoming, supportive and collaborative People Support team. Supporting a business partnering approach, these roles will have a mix of both HR process and system work along with providing hands on support within the employee and industrial relations space across Council.

Working with the highest level of professionalism and integrity, you will offer a high-level of support to our People Support Business Partners and our internal customers Council wide. If you enjoy working in a highly complex organisation using your exceptional customer service skills, and have the ability to manage complex HR information systems, then we would love to hear from you.

This role is primarily based at Council’s Administration building in Speers Point and may involve some travel to multiple sites within Lake Macquarie.

Along with the ability to demonstrate a highly professional and customer centric approach, our ideal candidates will have well-developed research, analytical and problem-solving skills along with the ability to work in a fast paced and complex environment.

The full criteria are listed in the attached Position Statement, with a strong focus on the following criteria:

  • Diploma in Human Resource Management, related field or relevant equivalent qualifications and / or experience
  • Proven experience in managing Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and electronic document management systems
  • High attention to detail with the ability to prepare industrially sound documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to provide a professional service and build business partnerships through influencing and the provision of appropriate human resources advice to internal stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret industrial instruments/policy and translate this into practical solutions
