JOB DESCRIPTION

A rewarding opportunity has become available for a Paralegal to join the General Counsel unit at CB City. In this role you will be primarily responsible for the administration of the General Counsel unit and will assist in the provision of legal services to the organisation. This may include legal research, legal drafting, court attendance and other related activities.

The position will be offered on a Permanent Full Time Basis.

Some Of Your Duties In This Role Will Include

  • Provide administrative services as required including assistance in litigation (particularly in the Land and Environment Court and Local Court), records management and payment and tracking of accounts.
  • Assist in the provision of non-administrative legal services including legal research, drafting and related activities.
  • Maintain databases to track services being delivered by the Legal Team including up-to-date status of litigation.
  • Maintain records of CLE conducted by Legal services staff.
  • Co-ordinate responses to Subpoenas and Notices to Produce.
  • Deal with urgent matters in the absence of other Legal Team staff
  • Attend Court where appropriate for mentions and other like appearances.
  • Maintain stationery and stock levels.

You Will Have (essential Criteria)
  • Tertiary Legal Qualification / Certificate IV in Legal Services or relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of and experience in addressing Land and Environment Court practice in development appeals and Local Court environmental prosecutions
  • Demonstrated organisational skills in a busy office environment
  • High level competence in computing
  • Experience in providing excellent customer service and responding to difficult customers, particularly in the context of development appeals
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, sound judgement, discretion and confidentiality
  • Demonstrated ability to interface appropriately with senior staff and external stakeholders
  • Experience in meeting strict deadlines
The salary range for this opportunity starts at $80,743 (Grade G, Step1) + 10 % super.
