Are you passionate about solving business problems through data-driven decision making? We are seeking an Asia-Pacific and Japan (APJ) Sales Compensation Operations Manager to build up a centralized Sales Compensation Management team. Reporting into the APJ Central Operations and Governance team, this role is focused on establishing standardized and automated sales compensation processes, developing metrics to measure the success of compensation programs, and analyzing data to uncover business insights.

As the Sales Compensation Operations Manager, you will be directly responsible for setting up a centralized Sales Compensation operations team. You will look for commonalities across business needs, recommend improvements to accelerate current scaling mechanisms, and leverage automation to grow capacity in line with overall business growth. Additionally, you will be responsible for driving improvements to reporting tools, methods, and processes to streamline compensation activities and increase effectiveness of compensation programs.

This position needs to build trust with stakeholders across multiple APJ time-zones and global organizations in AWS, such as Worldwide Revenue Operations (WWRO) and Worldwide / Regional Sales Strategy, Operations and Enablement (SSOE) organizations. Hence, you possess the ability to communicate effectively across different geographies and comfortable in engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The successful candidate possesses broad technical skills and demonstrated experience in financial acumen, business analysis, program management, prioritizing multiple assignments, and driving operational excellence. You are an effective self-starter who is highly organized, proactive in seeking answers to self-service tools, and always prepared to roll-up your sleeves to deliver time results. You are able to communicate your results, both written and verbal, in a clear and concise manner including the ability to recognize when to escalate problems / roadblocks.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Function as the subject matter expert in compensation operations including sales compensation processes and related systems and tools.
• Devise and set the strategic plan to build the APJ Sales Compensation Management team.
• Establish and manage policies & procedures for sales compensation operations.
• Streamline sales compensation processes to deliver end-to-end centralized management of sales compensation processes.
• Partner with cross-functional teams on business initiatives that impact tools/systems, reporting, policies and process improvements.
• Develop recommendations for new business initiatives and processes to drive improvements in sales compensation operations.
• Ensure timely completion of quarterly compensation activities resulting in on-time payout processing.
• Create insightful analysis, reports, and dashboards to improve compensation operations.
• Build cross-functional relationships with Sales, HR, Sales Strategy Operations and Enablement, Finance, and other stakeholders.
• Effectively communicate with sales leadership for commission reviews to gain necessary approvals.
• Provide necessary training and enablement to Sales Operations and Sales teams on sales compensation policies, processes, systems, tools, drivers to territory performance and related commission impacts.
• Rollout new compensation plans with SSOE, WW Revenue Operations, Sales, and HR teams.


· 5+ years of business operations and financial analysis experience.
· BS/BA degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Accounting or similar disciplines.
· Working knowledge in querying data warehouses using SQL.
· Expertise in data visualization software (QuickSight, Tableau, PowerBI, QlikView, etc.) for effective data presentation.
· Creative and analytical thinking to generate interesting approaches to answering business questions.
· Strong communication, planning, stakeholder expectations management, leadership & problem solving skills.
· Highly organized and detail-oriented, have multi-tasking skills, and efficient in ambiguous situations.
· Ability to consistently meet deadlines, and provide well-vetted reporting and business recommendations.


· Prior experience in sales compensation and incentive management.
· Proven track record supporting cross-functional stakeholders across multiple time zones.
· Experience in setting up and managing a team.
· Prior experience working in a lean, fast-paced organization.
· Experience communicating results to senior business leaders.
· Financial or accounting background, exposure to sales commissions and revenue recognition topics.
· MBA or advanced degree preferred.
· Background working with, and supporting, field facing organizations.
