THE ROLE

  • Salary Package: From $86,851 to $95,869 (HEW Level 6), plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading.
  • Appointment Type: Full time continuing role
  • Macquarie University, North Ryde

We are seeking an experienced and engaged Communications Officer to coordinate the implementation of the International Communications plan and to provide marketing support for Macquarie International.

You will develop design and develop persuasive content and contribute to advertising strategies to support our goal of reaching international audiences, as well as managing other projects and events as required. Supporting this, will be your tracking and evaluation of how we are performing against our objectives to enable continuous improvement.

About You

You will be a marketing or communications specialist, with a high attention to detail and outstanding copywriting, proofing and editing skills. Your well-developed interpersonal skills will also allow you to work effectively within our team environment and with key stakeholders.

Your background in marketing, communications, social media, advertising or a similar field, will set you up for success in this role. You may speak a second language, however more important is your ability to communicate across different cultures.

  • An Undergraduate degree in marketing and communications; and/or experience working in marketing, social media, journalism, design, advertising, media relations or a related field
  • High level knowledge and understanding of student recruitment and the influences that impact upon prospective student decision-making, and ability to effectively market the University’s programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of “offline” and “online” marketing initiatives across specified market spaces or for specified products / services.
  • Demonstrated experience in creative development of marketing materials, including professional standard writing and editing, quality assurance, version control management, and the ability to deliver outcomes within budget and designated timeframes.
  • Understanding of digital marketing and new technologies to maximize the effectiveness of student recruitment activities, and proven experience in digital and social media marketing.

Desirable

  • Cross-cultural communication skills, speaking anther language would be ideal.
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics, Digital Advertising Networks and Facebook Advertising Management.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML and Adobe Creative Suite applications.
