Aboriginal Case Worker FT Kempsey


This is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander identified position. Applications are sought from Indigenous Australians pursuant to Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW). In accordance with Sections 14 and 21 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, Aboriginality is a genuine occupational qualification and this role is open only to Aboriginal applicants.

We are seeking a passionate Full-time Aboriginal Case Worker to join our team.

Reporting to the Team Leader, you’ll collaborate with our customers returning from custody. You’ll help our customers to develop and implement person centered plans, guide and support customers to develop goals that will further enhance their living skills, engage in the community, access financial and health services, access pro-social activities, employment services and many more.

The day to day

  • Manage a case load and support our customers with their re-integration to society
  • Provide information, advice and advocacy to customer utilising a person-centered approach
  • Develop and review case plan to reflect customer’s need and preference
  • Partnering with Aboriginal Services to deliver the program
  • Partnering with community corrections to identify suitable participants

What you need to have:

  • Passion, Respect & Integrity
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
  • Ability and confidence to communicate and work with other staff outside of the immediate team
  • Willingness to obtain a National Criminal History Check (Police Check) and Working with Children’s Check
  • Hold a Driver Licence
  • Must have the capacity to lift 10 Kilograms unassisted, in order to support customer need
