Position Information

Woodenbong Central School (192 enrolments with 35% Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students) is a K-12 school situated in the foothills of the border ranges in Northern NSW. Woodenbong Central School’s sense of community is viewed as a strength of the school and is well supported by all sections of the local community. The focus in recent years at Woodenbong Central School has been on building an engaged learning community that focuses on improving student achievement and developing capacity to meet individual learning needs through high quality learning experiences guided by collaborative and reflective practices.

The school has one Multi-Categorical Class 7-12, which provide direct specialist assistance for students and staff through developing personalised learning and social skill programs within a supportive environment.

Selection Criteria

  • Approval to teach and/or experience teaching students with emotional, behaviour and moderate Intellect Disabilities..
  • Demonstrated ability in designing, communicating and implementing support plans that respond to the social, emotional, behavioural and academic learning needs of students.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and evaluate flexible teaching and learning programs and assessment with a focus on adjusting the curriculum.
  • Experience teaching students with emotional disturbance, behaviour difficulties, Mild Intellect Disability and/or on the autism spectrum.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
