Position Information

South Creek School is a NSW Department of Education school currently catering for 60 students with moderate to severe disabilities including Autism, intellectual and physical. Students are referred to South Creek School through a regional placement panel and parents/caregivers may visit the school prior to enrolment. South Creek School is situated behind Riverstone High School and is an active member of The Ponds Learning Alliance. Currently we have 10 Multicategorical classes. The school is a Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) school. The community has high expectations of the school and work enthusiastically in a three way partnership between the parents, staff and students.

Selection Criteria

  1. Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with autism, moderate to severe intellectual disabilities and physical disabilities with demonstrated ability to implement strategies that meet their communication, sensory, social and behavioural needs.
  2. Demonstrated ability to differentiate the curriculum and develop Personalised Learning Support Plans to maximise student growth and engagement for students with complex needs.
  3. Evidence of highly developed and effective interpersonal skills with a focus on developing respectful relationships with all members of the school community that foster a culture of high expectations for all.
  4. Ability and willingness to work collaboratively to develop and implement whole school initiatives and educational programs.


An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
