JOB DESCRIPTION

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting an early career Project Engineer with an Electrical Engineering background to join our team at Melbourne Water located in Brooklyn. Being a degree qualified Electrical Engineer, you will have experience delivering electrical and/or instrumentation projects.

As a Project Engineer, the successful applicant will be responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously from proposal to close out with oversight from Senior Project Engineers. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to; concept evaluation, detailed design, procurement and site execution management with a high emphasis on the preparation of safety and quality requirements to documentation standards.

Whilst previous experience in the water industry would be advantageous, a high aptitude for providing pragmatic solutions is considered a must.

Responsibilities

  • Scope, estimate and plan assigned projects
  • Co- ordinate detail design and engineering for assigned projects
  • Carry out procurement and expediting activities required for assigned projects
  • Manage the project stakeholder interface
  • Support design/drawing office personnel with engineering input
  • Provide practical and engineering support to the construction/commissioning phases of a project
  • Ensure projects deliverables met the relevant safety, environmental and ergonomic standards
  • Manage the close out activities of assigned projects


Skills / Qualifications

  • Electrical Engineering qualification
  • Demonstrate balance of industrial experience at the required level and position
  • Sound communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and deliver to deadlines
  • Familiar with project control mechanisms for both budget and schedule
  • Familiar with supporting construction works would be considered favourably
