The Role

The position is in the Education Learning and Assessment Directorate, which is responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of RACP training programs across the Divisions, Chapters and Faculties of the College.

The Education Policy, Research and Evaluation Unit undertakes educational research and evaluation across all the aspects of physician training. The unit is responsible for the evaluation of the implementation of curricula, methods of assessment and teaching and learning, and a clinical educator program.

The main responsibilities in this role will be:

  • To design, implement, analyse and report on program evaluations such as surveys to Fellows and Trainees.
  • To design and undertake qualitative and quantitative research in key areas of specialist medical education.
  • To conduct literature reviews.
  • To provide support and consultation to College-wide research and evaluation projects.
  • To contribute towards external and internal publications and presentations.
  • To contribute towards preparation of grant applications, reports and other professional documentations produced by the College.
Desired Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have:

  • A postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. education, health) that includes training in qualitative and quantitative research methods, or significant relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience in research design and data analysis
  • Proficiency in statistics and statistical applications
  • Proficiency in using relevant data analysis software such as SPSS and NVivo
  • High level written and oral communication skills
  • strong interpersonal skills
