Position Summary:

A vacancy exists in the above unit for a highly motivated Occupational Therapist with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team. This senior Occupational Therapy position involves delivery of community based occupational therapy assessment and treatment to patients on the Transitional Aged Care Program. This position is responsible for the clinical supervision of junior staff and/or allied health assistants. This role may involve provision of community based occupational therapy assessment and intervention for clients in the Commonwealth Home Support Programme Occupational therapy team.

The Level 3 Occupational Therapist is expected to participate in quality improvement activities and relevant research. This position may also assist in development of policies and procedures and supervision of Occupational Therapy students on placement.

Selection Criteria

  • Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia.
  • Tertiary Qualification in Occupational Therapy and AHPRA Occupational Therapy registration
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with minimal direct supervision and extensive experience in the provision of clinical supervision and leadership to Occupational Therapists, support staff and students
  • Demonstrated advanced assessment, clinical reasoning skills and evidence based intervention for the client group (aged care, chronic & complex care) with extensive clinical experience in home visits and community based rehabilitation
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and to apply advanced clinical reasoning skills and independent professional judgement
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality initiatives and service evaluation processes
  • Current Class C Driver's Licence
