Product Manager

This is a new role within Industry and Enterprise Solutions team within our Group Product team.

You will work closely with the Head of Industry and Enterprise Solutions and collaborate with product Managers and Claims to develop and deliver training material and standard policy wording for the Claims Team on current policies as a part of the on boarding process of a new case manager. When amendments to the insurance policies occur, you will update all training material accordingly and train out to the Group claims team.

Success in this role will require high levels of collaboration and engagement with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of Group Life Product and Pricing processes and Industry issues

What will you be responsible for?

  • Evolving TAL’s Group Life Claim Support Program

  • Developing and deliver training material created in consultation with the relevant product managers

  • Making the training material be available to case managers through a combination of e-modules and face-to-face

  • Assisting in delivering product workshops, training for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Creating and reviewing marketing/technical material.

  • Participating in peak body (FSC, AIST and ASFA) working groups and submissions

  • Completing submissions to Treasury regarding upcoming legislative changes.

  • Evolving TAL’s group life member centric proposition framework

  • Evolving TAL’s member centric led product design and embed in day to day proposition design

  • Identifying new market opportunities or proposition solutions

  • Leading Group Life sustainability product design and implementation

  • Evolving key living benefits proposition design including income protection and Total and Permanent Disability

  • Leading product discussion on key member benefit solutions such as mental health and domestic violence

What are we looking for?

  • Claims technical experience and knowledge is strongly preferred

  • Strong technical knowledge of life insurance product, with experience in interpreting, reviewing and devising detailed terms and conditions plus an understanding of pricing methodologies.

  • Analytical skills and methodologies

  • Excellent time management, organisational and presentation skills

  • Knowledge of compliance and other legislative requirements

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to embed change

  • Product development and new opportunity assessment within the financial services industry.

  • Tertiary qualification in law, finance, commerce, business and /or related disciplines is preferred but not essential

  • Skilled at writing technical documentation with in-depth knowledge of the MS Office suite

  • Client relationship, negotiation and influencing skills (desired)

  • Knowledge of project management theory (desired)
