JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client is one of the largest dairy company located in West Gippsland. Due to an increase in workload, they are looking for a casual Laboratory Technician with dairy or food testing experience on an ongoing basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to utilise your analytical and lab skills along with the chance to be part of a dynamic team of individuals who thrive on the challenges of a fast paced FMCG business.

Your accountabilities in this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Sampling, preparation, testing (microbiological and chemical) of in-process samples, raw materials, environmental testing from the manufacturing plant.
  • Recording and reporting of data in a timely manner.
  • Analysis of data in excel format to identify non-conformances/ trending
  • Ensuring lab equipment is operated, maintained and calibrated.
  • Maintenance and calibration of FT1 (Food scan).
  • Maintain, order and quality control the supply of lab materials and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with GLP and other regulatory standards are met.
  • Maintain work area to meet GLP, housekeeping and safety standards at all times.

Ideally you will have:

  • Qualification in Food Science, Microbiology or similar with practical working knowledge of GLP
  • Proven previous experience in a laboratory/testing supporting a food/ dairy manufacturing operation.
  • Knowledge of calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment and instrumentation
  • Advanced computer skills, data trend analysis and report writing capabilities.
  • Strong organisational skills and communication skills, with a passion for being part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong attention to detail with problem solving attitude.
