The Team


Our established team in Perth are specialists in the personal injuries space. Due to increased demand to secure resolutions for our deserving clients, and through positive media exposure, an an opportunity has arisen for an Associate or Senior Associate to join a supportive and friendly team as a specialist in Abuse Law & Medical Law


This is an ideal role for someone who strongly believes in handling claims with empathy, and a willingness to think creatively, to make a real difference in the lives of our clients.


You'll have the opportunity to be mentored by pre-eminent experts in the field of institutional abuse, who have been invited to speak both locally and internationally as part of various committees and enquiries. This role will not just see you secure justice for those who have been wronged, but also give you the opportunity to influence change in the way we protect our children.


You'll also have the opportunity to test your skills as a truly technically proficient lawyer in the medical negligence space, acting for clients who have suffered catastrophic back injuries, brain injuries, cosmetic injuries, birth injuries, delayed diagnosis of illness and children with cerebral palsy.


The Role


This is a permanent role, based in our Perth CBD office. We are open to those wishing to work either full time or part time, and flexibility with remote onboarding exists during this time.


This is an ideal opportunity for an individual who is ready to take the next step in their leadership journey - you'll have a law clerk and paralegal reporting directly to you, so you can stretch your wings and mentor them in return.


This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual who wants to grow and develop our national Medical and Abuse Law practices by establishing yourself as a thought leader in Perth’s local community.

Although Medical Law or Abuse Law experience across any jurisdiction is highly preferable, it's not essential for success - we are open to mentoring an eager and experienced personal injuries solicitor. So, if you are keen to assist vulnerable people with achieving justice, and bring sensitivity and expertise to the table, this may be your next move.

The Responsibilities 


  • Provide clients with legal advice and representation to obtain compensation
  • Work across a variety of client matters that require a high level of sensitivity
  • Grow and develop new client files across Perth’s Medical Law and Abuse Law practices
  • Provide legal advice to each client's particular matter to suit their level of understanding
  • Develop and maintain strong professional working relationships with clients, including effective and regular communication and managing the client's expectations
  • Draft legal documentation with a high degree of attention to detail
  • Manage and run a file load with a high level of commercial and fiscal awareness
  • Take an active role in working with and mentoring junior members of the team


The Skills


  • Minimum 4 years post-admission experience, with expertise in personal injury law
  • Enjoy working on legally challenging and factually complex matters
  • Experience in growing new client files across personal injuries is desirable 
  • Maturity and confidence to deal with clients, senior and junior counsel and expert witnesses
  • A desire to be part of a strong, cohesive team that works together to get great results
  • Ability to manage large volumes of documents
  • Ability to communicate effectively with experts in multiple fields
  • Demystifying the legal process to those unfamiliar with the legal system 
  • Passionate, motivated and enthusiastic individual who wants to take their career to the next level
