Job Description

This is a national sales role. Internally, the position is known as Business Development Manager, Engineered Systems - Fall Protection.

Key Accountabilities (but Not Limited To The Following)

  • Lead the Business Development for Engineered Systems nationally for 3M Fall Protection (FP) Business
  • Drive and manage the successful execution of the market segment and business strategies and plans to profitably grow Engineered System business opportunities in Australia
  • Design, specify and quote systems for projects
  • Work with construction and engineering companies along with architects to specify 3M Engineered Systems
  • Joint field activity with the 3M Personal Safety and Fall Protection teams to identify and close opportunities
  • Train internal and external stakeholders on Engineered systems and manage training certification for qualified installers
  • Liaise with marketing, manufacturing, technical and quality team to optimise portfolio performance
  • Work with major Fall Protection channel partners and installers to identify and close opportunities
  • Capture all business opportunities in CRM ensuring activity and opportunities reflect operation plans and sales budgets
  • Achieve a clear understanding of the competitive landscape – articulate trends and future direction.
  • Undertake skills and personal development training as required from time to time
  • Other duties and special projects as required from time to time

  • Engineering, Business or Marketing qualification or related tertiary qualification desired
  • Minimum 5 years in a technical (engineering) sales position, preferably mechanical engineering related
  • Strong track record of success in B2B sales
  • Understanding of technical design drawings an added advantage
  • Project skills and experience including tendering for new business
  • Experienced with use of CRM applications e.g. Salesforce
