Job Description

How will I help?
You will join Westpac’s Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) Chief Operating Office (COO) team, who are focused on executing strategic projects and advocating for the business on operational & technology initiatives, coordinating operating rhythms, driving best practice processes, and providing market leading fulfilment to improve the customer and banker experience.

Within the Strategic Planning, Governance & Reporting function you will provide business insights through data manipulation, on all aspects of the CIB business which will result in identifying process and procedure enhancement opportunities to increase efficiency and deliver quality and effective reporting to Senior stakeholders. You will also support CIB in implementing and developing business strategies and initiatives, including the coordination and execution of various CIB initiatives to address issues across the broader business.

Other activities include:

  • Coordinating and contributing to CEO and Board level reporting
  • Supporting the team to generate analysis and reports by customer, industry, geography and / or product to assist our industry and product teams
  • Contribute to and represent CIB on working groups and projects across CIB and WIB
  • Assist in the preparation of presentation packs for the CIB Managing Director and COO for various forums
  • Attend to various ad-hoc requests from the business and internal stakeholders

What do I need?
You will have solid data analysis skills and will have the ability to translate this data into meaningful reporting and insights to be delivered to senior stakeholders, preferably within a corporate or institutional environment, while communicating context and recommendations. You will be able to manage multiple competing stakeholders and deadlines and will be able to pivot and prioritise projects and time accordingly.

Some further advantageous skills:
  • Strong data analysis skills (i.e., Excel, VBA) and ability to adapt skills to a wide variety of projects and scenarios
  • Ability to work independently and recognise and action priorities accordingly
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (i.e., Commerce, Finance, Accounting or Information Systems) is preferred
