Job Description

How will I help?

The purpose of the role is to provide leading risk oversight, insight and control by achieving critical business and portfolio outcomes, including risk / reward and operational risk effectiveness. This role will report to the Senior Manager Credit supporting the leadership team and timely execution of credit decisions.

You will provide oversight of local portfolio to recognise and monitor trends, loss/provision ratios, secondary watchlist, risk/reward returns and remedial strategies and reviews. This includes ensuring early identification of weak / poor credits for more intensive remedial management. Also, you will ensure that credit decisions are communicated in a constructive manner including consideration of alternatives to make the risk acceptable.

You will maintain a partnership approach between the line and credit and fosters relationships to achieve the best outcomes for the Bank and the Customer. You must encourage a learning environment for professional development that drives consistent, commercial credit decisioning and credit management capability within the team.

What do I need?

You must have experience in banking or financial services industry.

You must have demonstrated risk management (assessment, analysis and decisioning) experience at a corporate level and portfolio risk management (monitoring trends and emerging issues, early identification of weak credits) experience.
