How will I help?

You will be joining a team that is passionate about data. In fact our vision is to be the leading information and analytics team in Australian banking, by market and customer reputation

You will be integral to helping Data Platforms achieve its vision by playing a key role in the delivery of analytics and business intelligence projects for Westpac.

Working closely with our internal business partners, you will be part of the team that is responsible for identifying and implementing initiatives that deliver operational excellence across Data Platforms

What You Will Do

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will be responsible for undertaking analysis of current state processes to identify improvement opportunities, developing solutions and managing the implementation and change across the business.
  • Engage with a broad group of stakeholders to gather and analyse business processes for Data Platforms
  • Engage and manage business and technology stakeholders
  • Collaborate with architecture, business and IT partners to design the business solution that will deliver the right business outcomes
  • Development of business communications and change management materials
  • Review materials prepared by other members of the team
  • Produce process ‘As Is’ and ‘To Be’ maps
  • Produce user stories covering functional and non-functional requirements
  • Complete benefit analysis
  • Plan and execute business analysis activities and user acceptance testing
  • Ensure that all BA project deliverables are consistently of a high quality
  • Support business case development and benefits realisation activities
  • Able to work with agile teams and experience in agile delivery methodology
  • Generate test plan and test cases, mapping these back to the requirements
  • Executing test cases to validate requirements
  • Understand and adhere to Westpac’s project delivery methodologies and processes
  • Analyse and improve controls particularly for regulatory projects
  • Contribute to the effective management of operational risks
  • Actively contribute to knowledge sharing and enhancing the capability of the business analyst group as a whole
  • Participate in broader Data Platform initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of how we work

  • Significant experience in Business Analysis, Process improvement capability and stakeholder management
  • Excellent Communication skills and influential skills
  • Experience in Jira, Confluence
  • Experience in Agile and Change management practices
  • Experience in Operational Risk Frameworks, Data Analysis and SQL
  • Experience with APRA prudential and regulatory projects
