This role is part of Security Services and reporting to the Security Engineering Manager; this role is responsible for the development and integration of security products and services in the Woolworths environment with a focus on Endpoint Protection.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for operating, maintaining and integrating security tools within the Woolworths environment
  • Responsible for providing technical security advice and guidance to Woolworths
  • Engage with IT project and technical teams to develop and integrate security capabilities
  • Perform engineering and integration activities according to priority and criticality
  • Implementation of new technical controls, or update to existing controls to detect Indicators Of Compromise (IOCs)
  • Drive efficiencies through process improvement, automation and tooling
  • Provide security expertise to the Cyber Security team leveraging industry leading practices
  • Reporting on the health of the security service in relation to coverage, compliance and efficiency
  • Engineer, implement and monitor security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks and information
  • Identify and define system security requirements
  • Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols
  • Configure and troubleshoot security infrastructure devices
  • Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks
  • Communicate with relevant stakeholders on coverage and compliance of security tools
  • Collaboration with internal Cyber Security, IT and other stakeholders to manage our security services
  • Follow the Incident Response procedures in a timely manner in relation to the security tools and configuration incidents
  • Ad hoc of on call duties after hours: Change Management and On Call Support
  • Write comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes and propositions for further system security enhancement


You Will Ideally Possess
  • Ideally around 4+ years experience in a Engineering role
  • Broad knowledge and confidence of a number of Security applications and tools, with focus on Endpoint Protections capabilities (McAfee, Crowdstrike)
  • Experience in managing significant security incidents
  • Experience in the various stages of Incident Response
  • Strong understanding of information security
  • Strong understanding of networking and protocols
  • The ability to work in both a team environment and independently
  • Driving business outcomes
