Assistant Accountant

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Assistant Accountant for a growing organization who are based in the eastern suburbs within easy reach of public transport. This will be a 12 month FTC starting as soon as next week - it will be a busy and fast pace opportunity with plenty of variety to keep you busy.

The duties will include:

  • Handling the invoicing
  • Processing the fortnightly payroll including super and payroll tax
  • Bank & credit card reconciliations
  • Month end reporting
  • Back up to Accounts Payable
  • Weekly payment runs
  • Along with other adhoc duties as they arise

Your Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics or related field.
  • Additional qualifications such as CPA or CA is a plus.
  • At least two years' experience at an Assistant Accountant level.
  • Brilliant skills in Excel.
  • Proven experience with at least one large ERP
  • Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Brilliant organisational, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines.
  • Detail oriented, ability to multi-task, work independently and prioritise tasks.

About you

To be successful for this position, it is important that you could start within the next couple of weeks. The client is also looking for someone who is a true team player and happy to work collaboratively to ensure deadlines are met on time. Along with great communication skills, an eagerness to learn the processes that are in place and and an excellent awareness of time management.
