Boral Asphalt is seeking an experienced leader to join our team as a Plant Supervisor to be based at our plant in Canberra. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for the site including producing, allocating & dispatching of asphalt product, monitoring and conducting routine maintenance of the asphalt production plant and associated equipment.

About the Position:

  • Ensure production, safety and environmental compliance on site.
  • Be responsible for the site, operators and lab technician.
  • Supervise the production & dispatch of asphalt products in accordance with identified procedures and production plans.
  • Oversee routine daily maintenance of the asphalt plant
  • Work closely with the asset management group to ensure routine inspections and/or maintenance of all plant and associated equipment is programmed and carried out to the schedule.
  • Manage contractors on site.
  • Process all necessary paperwork and production reports as required
  • Maintain stocks of raw materials as required and perform accurate stock takes.
  • Manage and monitor all plant costs and adhere to production budgets
About You:
  • Strong people, safety and environmental focus with the ability to lead by example
  • Prepared and willing to work rotating shift work & weekends.
  • Mechanical aptitude – A trade background would be highly regarded
  • Ability to work to production and maintenance deadlines
  • Ability to manage and lead a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong communication ability at all levels
  • Well-developed knowledge of workplace safety and the environmental obligations.
  • Previous experience in a team leadership role may be an advantage
  • Previous experience with fixed plant operation (particularly asphalt, production plants) and knowledge of working with hot materials, trade qualifications and FEL ticket or equivalent will be highly regarded.
