We are looking for AIN's to complement and enhance the current casual nurse pool at Sutherland Mental Health Service, where you will have the opportunity to undertake available shifts - work as much or as little as you like to fit in with your personal commitment or study.

Provision of support to the nursing team in the delivery of nursing care in a mental health environment as directed by the Registered Nurse. Provide direct care activities to consumers in accordance with the nursing care plan and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Assist Registered and Enrolled Nurses with consumer care interventions as directed
Contribute to collecting accurate health care information and maintaining accurate health care documentation as required
Communicate effectively with consumers and other health care team members in accordance with appropriate protocol

  1. Certificate III in Health Services Assistance (Descriptor: Assisting in Nursing Work in Acute Care) or equivalent; 2nd/3rd year undergraduate nursing student.
  2. Good written, verbal, communication, observation and reporting skills.
  3. Proven ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  4. Previous experience working in a care setting with an interest in mental illness and well-being.
  5. Understanding of issues surrounding consumer confidentiality.
