Accountant | Macquarie Park

Journey Early Learning is growing, and we are looking for an Accountant to join us on our path to exceeding. You will hold a pivotal role within the Finance team, reporting to the Finance Manager to support the day to day functioning of Journey Early Learning.

As part of a growing business, this role is fast-paced, dynamic and diverse. You will have the opportunity to take responsibility of critical accounts while liaising with key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have experience within corporate finance and with financial modelling. This may be the perfect opportunity for a CPA or CA qualified candidate looking to step into commercial finance.

Based in our Sydney office, you will work alongside a team of authentic, genuine, and passionate people who come together with pride in where they work, and who they work for.

We are looking for someone who is available to work part-time (30 hours a week) across Monday to Friday.

Your Main Responsibilities Will Include

  • Preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements including commentary
  • Budgeting and 3-way forecasting
  • Cash-flow preparation and management
  • Bank covenant reporting
  • Reconciliation of general ledger accounts
  • Bank reconciliations and review of 45 bank accounts
  • Monitoring and maintaining 43+ XERO files
  • Prepare and lodge BAS
  • Process improvement, policies, and procedures
  • Ad-hoc reporting
The Ideal Candidate Should Have
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role with proven knowledge and experience
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Possess a can-do attitude and is professional and committed to achieving outcomes
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to work autonomously as well as within a small team
  • Possess the ability to take initiative and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with XERO and Spotlight Reporting Software would be advantageous
