An opportunity has arisen to join our team in Victoria Park on a dual-branded site, Mareena Purslowe and Purslowe & Chipper Funerals brand for an Administrative Arranger/Conductor on a full-time basis.

This role will be responsible for arranging funerals, greeting clients and providing administrative support to the team. This location will see you working in a busy funeral home so your ability to multi-task and support a range of people will be important.

We are seeking a caring, compassionate and well organised individual who will use their strengths in communication to assist families. Please be mindful, this will involve dealing directly with the deceased and grieving families so an understanding and the ability to cope with this is required.

Your day will start with ensuring our offices and reception areas are clean and well-presented before turning your attention to any number of administrative duties. You will manage incoming phone calls, assist clients that come into the branch, receive payments, place orders, prepare correspondence and issue accounts. You will need to be at ease with postponing all this at a moment’s notice in order to be of service to a grieving family.

The successful candidate will need the following skills and experience:

  • Competent keyboard / computing and telephone operating skills
  • Competent administrative skills
  • Be people oriented and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the public, both in person and on the telephone
  • Be sensitive to grieving people, their values and beliefs
  • Represent the companies’ corporate image and wear the uniform following company guidelines
  • Aligned interpersonal skills to work in a close team environment
  • Willingness and personal motivation to undertake and benefit from training and development programs
  • The ability to respond appropriately to client / family concerns
  • A capacity to be at ease with death and the expression of grief
  • Have the desire and initiative to proactively support other staff members
  • A current unrestricted drivers’ license
