The role

Reporting to the International Programs and Partnerships Director, this role ensures that One Girl’s programs are high quality, have great reach and impact to the lives of girls and young women. This entails supporting Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) across One Girl’s program engagements in Sierra Leone, and in countries where One Girl supports local partner programs, including Uganda.

This position plays a major part in interpreting, sense making, and reporting of quantitative and qualitative data collected by field staff and partners. The role will work collaboratively with the Communications team to ensure that monitoring and evaluation results are disseminated across the organisation, with One Girl’s key stakeholders and will also work with the Fundraising team in grant-writing.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Co-design of a girl-led feminist MEAL framework in collaboration with key stakeholders including the programs team and program partners ensuring effective and efficient implementation.
  • Data collection and analysis tools co-design of in collaboration with One Girl’s, country teams and program partners, and support capacity strengthening activities where needed.
  • Identifying opportunities for ongoing learning, improvement and growth of One Girl’s program quality and impact in line with feminist values and principles.
  • Working with the International Program and Partnership Director to conduct horizon-scans and stakeholder mapping / analysis, that informs potential partnership engagement opportunities for One Girl globally.
  • Ensure streamlined communication of program outcomes (and impact) across the organisation for reporting purposes.
  • Design regular impact and end-line evaluations that inform and strengthen One Girl’s program practice and policy.

About You

You are passionate about creating a world where all people — no matter where they are born or how much money they have — enjoy the same rights and opportunities. Your knowledge of program evaluation and research will foster improvement and growth of One Girl’s program quality and further create impact.

Ideally, you will possess:
  • Postgraduate qualifications in international development or a similar field, with proven understanding of the international aid and development sector – and / or a minimum of 5 years’ work experience
  • 3+ years of demonstrable experience designing and implementing MEAL frameworks for development projects implemented by diverse stakeholder groups – with a specific focus on the application of a gender-sensitive evaluation activities.
  • 3+ years of experience in qualitative and quantitative social research, and the use of a diverse MEL methods, tools, processes, and systems for research and / or evaluation purposes.
  • Advanced computer literacy in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as data collection, analysis, and presentation software/applications (such as SurveyMonkey).
  • A confident user and quick learner of online platforms and database, with preferred competency in platforms such as: G Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Full Australian working rights.
