Your Role

As Head of Department Middle Schooling at Sunshine Beach State High School you will also be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Tracking of all Year 9 and 10 students
  • Management of Personalised Learning for Years 9/10 including Learning Support and EAL/D
  • Working with Curriculum HoDs/ HOSEs/G.Os to develop ICPs and learning plans and adjustments and implement Learning Support
  • Overall monitoring of ICPs- including ensuring review and monitoring occurring across all year levels.
  • NAPLAN preparation and organisation year 9
  • MET (Middle phase Education and Training) plans
  • Wellbeing of staff
  • Training of support staff, HoDs and class teachers in working together and implementing differentiation strategies - support pedagogical engagement in classes
  • Line Manage and support Year 9 and Year 10 HoYs
  • Line Manage Differentiation Coaches
  • Instructional Leadership - Implementation of EIA including whole school strategies

A mandatory requirement of this role is:

  • Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland.
  • Teachers working in Education and Care Services (including State Delivered Kindergarten programs) require an exemption card issued by BlueCard Services.
