Position Information

Broken Hill Public Schools Preschool is a single unit Preschool with 33 across 2 sessions of children enrolled on a part time basis throughout the week. BHPS Preschool was awarded a Meeting rating during assessment and rating. Broken Hill Public School Preschool is committed to sustaining and developing this rating through our commitment to collaborative and inclusive partnerships and our demonstrated leadership and pedagogical practice to support the Early Years Learning Framework.

Broken Hill Public School is located in the Far West of NSW. Our school is a Preschool to Year 6 school with a DoE Preschool on site and a school-based playgroup for 0-4 year olds. Broken Hill Public School has an enrolment of 166 K-6 and 33 Preschool students. The school has a stable Aboriginal student population of approximately 29%.

Selection Criteria

  1. Approval to teach Preschool, Infants and Primary
  2. Knowledge of developing and implementing prior-to-school educational programs underpinned by strong knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards.
  3. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to form reciprocal relationships with families, secure and respectful relationships with children and professional relationships with other educators and the wider community.
  4. Understanding of, and sensitivity to, the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from low socio-economic communities
