Full Job Description
Based in Allied Health and Human Performance at the City East campus
Full-time, 3 year fixed term contract
Commencement salary: $72,218 per annum (plus superannuation)

About the Role

This position is primarily focussed on the preparation and delivery of teaching and associated administrative duties within the Academic Unit’s undergraduate and /or postgraduate programs. The successful candidate will work with guidance and direction from other academic staff and undertake duties with increasing autonomy as the staff member gains skills and experience. The Lecturer in Human Movement utilises contemporary professional/discipline-related knowledge in their teaching practice, and carries out activities to develop scholarly expertise.

Core Responsibilities

Prepare and conduct learning activities including lectures, tutorials, assessment and provide timely feedback to students
Use a variety of pedagogical modalities (including face-to-face, online and blended learning) to foster student learning
Undertake high quality teaching as part of the teaching team, including participation in moderation of marking exercises
Incorporate contemporary professional/discipline-based knowledge in teaching activities, and under direction contribute to the design and development of course materials
Act as a student advisor by responding promptly to queries and directing students to appropriate supports/services

Essential Skills and Experience

Undergraduate qualification with relevant industry/discipline experience in Human Movement
Ability to undertake a range of teaching duties including the preparation of appropriate teaching materials and resources
High level written and oral communication skills including demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with team members, external parties and colleagues
Demonstrated ability to actively engage and educate a student group
Capable using the necessary digital techniques required for effective curriculum delivery
