About the opportunity:
St Thomas Aquinas is seeking a part time Kindergarten teacher to join our team on a temporary basis, working 2 days per week (Thursday & Friday), until the end of Term 4. Our curriculum is rich and diverse and we offer learning spaces designed for the 21st century learner. You will work alongside a passionate and supportive team committed to achieving positive learning outcomes for each student. More specifically you will:

Structure lessons to meet the physical, social and intellectual development and characteristics of your students
Create and maintain a safe, inclusive and challenging learning environment and implement fair and equitable behaviour management plans
Evaluate all aspects of your teaching practice to ensure you are meeting the learning needs of each student
Interpret and use student assessment data to diagnose barriers to learning and to challenge students to improve their performance
Effectively manage the learning cycle, including planning for learning and assessment, developing learning programs, teaching, assessing, providing feedback on student learning and reporting to parents/carers
Engage with our school communities within and beyond the classroom to enrich the educational context for students and work to promote the links between school, home and community in the social and intellectual development of your students

Eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)
Tertiary Qualification
Statements of Service
A deep understanding of contemporary pedagogical approaches for primary years learners
Extensive knowledge of the content and sequence of Key Learning Areas
Knowledge in structuring lesson plans to meet the physical, social and intellectual development characteristics of students.
A demonstrated understanding of what constitutes effective, developmentally appropriate strategies in learning and teaching programs
