Purchasing Administrator

About our team

GFG Alliance has an agile, entrepreneurial culture with high energy, strong levels of ambition, and sustainable growth plans. This brings opportunities for GFG’s people and businesses to flourish and develop. We work with our people to determine how we can grow our business and our future.

Liberty Bell Bay is Australia's only ferro-alloy producer, operating four arc furnaces and a Sinter Plant to produce high-carbon ferromanganese, silicomanganese and sinter.

About Bell Bay
This role will be based at Bell Bay, 50km north of Launceston. Tasmania offers a unique lifestyle choice with short commute times, easy access to a wide range of leisure activities, affordable housing, well-regarded schools, a vibrant cultural and sporting scene and welcoming communities.

About the role

We are currently looking for an Administrator to support the Purchasing Team, to ensure timesheet and other information provided by service providers/contractors are signed off from our onsite supervisors who have supervised the service being performed. This information is then converted into a “Service Entry Sheet” which is entered into SAP HANA procurement system.

Once the information has been entered, it becomes the equivalent of a “Goods Receipt” for goods supplied. This then is used as the reference for when service providers submit their invoices for payment processing by our accounts payable team.

About your experience

Working in a dynamic team environment, you will have similar experience working within medium to large scale organisations. You will have strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with both internal and external customers.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Understanding of the end to end procurement process
  • Experience dealing with vendors
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport and maintain effective relationships through application of communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset
  • Demonstrated computer literacy and software skills to complete required tasks (Microsoft Office, SAP)
  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of time management and organisation skills

Across our different business units, we offer career opportunities for people who share our drive, passion and ambition. From apprentices and graduates to experienced professionals, we are committed to offering fulfilling careers and the chance to grow as our business grows. We would love you to be part of our journey.
