ABOUT THE ROLE

The Security Analyst is responsible for performing a range of systems security related activities including proactive monitoring, reactive support, and documentation of security incidents to support the Security Operations team to reduce and manage security related incidents.

ABOUT YOU

The Security Analyst will be responsible for the implementation and enhancement of security capabilities that help protect TAFE NSW's information and systems, whether managed by TAFE NSW staff or third-party providers.

You are a security professional with hands-on experience in implementing protective and detective controls and tools as well as performing a range of other system security related activities including analysis of breaches, assessing metrics and data, and performing vulnerability testing and risk analysis.

You are a collaborative team player will work with the Continuity Management team to contribute to updating disaster recovery plans and overall security operations and risk minimisation. Furthermore, you are comfortable managing cyber security events, incidents, and patching lifecycles.

Crucially, you are someone who shares the TAFE NSW Values of Integrity, Collaboration, Excellence and Customer First.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Degree in relevant discipline or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience.

  2. Significant experience monitoring, analysing and addressing technology systems security threats and incidents and implementing protective controls.

  3. Ability to address and meet focus capabilities as stated in the Position Description.

HIGHLY REGARDED

  • Experience conducting proactive monitoring, managing cyber security incidents and digital forensic investigations.

  • Vulnerability management and demonstrated application of patching processes, using risk management processes and appropriate tools.

  • Demonstrated experience in reducing Mean Time To Detect and Mean Time To Respond through implementation of monitoring, alerting and response tools and processes.

  • Ability to classify, manage and close Cyber Security incidents.

WHAT YOU'LL RECEIVE

This position offers a base salary range of $110,065 - $121,490 p.a plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
