The NSLHD has a fantastic opportunity for a Human Resources (HR) Professional interested in joining Public Health. As a key member within the People and Culture Team, this exciting role leads and supports the delivery strategic and operation people and culture services to our corporate and clinical staff, management teams and Royal North Shore Hospital Executive team. The role builds and delivers a strong people and culture business partnering function within the assigned health care facility to deliver effective people management and leadership, culture improvement, change management and education. The partnership model seeks to improve conflict resolution, disciplinary and performance related outcomes whilst also developing capability and capacity regarding the HR Business Partners within the team. Deliverables within the role will also include project management across a diverse range of activities, strategic advice with respect to industrial matters and interpretation and guidance across all NSW Health policies and procedures.

Candidates will need to address the following criteria:

  2. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, Employment Law, other relevant field and / or extensive professional experience in employee relations management at a senior level in a large diverse service industry organisation.
  3. Demonstrated ability to develop, lead, motivate and manage a professional Workforce team in the provision of the full range of Workforce services across a multi-site business environment comprising diverse occupational streams to achieve corporate goals.
  4. Demonstrable experience in industrial relations, including negotiations with unions and appearances before the NSW IRC or similar federal tribunals.
  5. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of relevant, current IR legislation and how it is applied in the NSW Public Health Sector.
  6. Extensive experience in providing expert technical and specialised strategic Workforce/Employee Relations advice and consultancy services at a senior level in line with legislative and regulatory requirements.
  7. Well-developed analytical skills and problem solving skills that enable sound decision making, timely responses, creative resolution based approaches and the development of sound policies and /or strategies to address issues.
  8. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, liaise, advise and negotiate with key stakeholders including management, staff, industrial organisations, other industry bodies and external agencies.
