Bushfire Recovery Victoria (BRV) is a new permanent Victorian Government agency with a mandate to work directly with communities to support their recovery after bushfire disaster. BRV takes a community-led approach to recovery, coordinating rebuilding and recovery and partnering with communities, governments, businesses and not-for-profit organisations to ensure recovery programs and services meet the needs of bushfire-affected communities, individuals and regions.

BRV is seeking applications from suitably qualified applicants for the opportunity of Executive Director, Recovery Strategy and Planning. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this role is responsible for the development of system-wide strategies, policy and plans for community-led recovery following bushfire disaster. You will have strong executive level experience in leading policy and strategy functions in a complex operating environment, and a demonstrated commitment to working closely with other members of the executive team to ensure the highest standards of performance and integrity are achieved.

This is a key strategic role that will build genuine partnerships and collaborate across all levels of government, businesses and not-for-profit organisations to support community-led recovery from bushfire disaster, ensuring that Bushfire Management Victoria puts in place the strategies, plans, evaluation and reporting for a best practice approach to meeting the needs of affected individuals, communities and regions.

The closing date for this position is midnight Thursday, 24 June 2021.
