ABOUT THE ROLE

The Security Engineer is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the Systems Group security environment across TAFE NSW. Using highly skilled cloud, software and hardware security engineering knowledge, the position develops and maintains processes, procedures and protocols across complex security operation activities that ensure the ongoing security of Systems Group systems across TAFE NSW.

The Security Engineer will develop and implement appropriate security controls and service management frameworks in order to protect all information as well as systems and provide governance and assurance to ensure TAFE NSW and it’s outsourced service providers meet TAFE’s compliance, legal and regulatory obligations.

This role will require availability and participation in on-call rosters in order to support Cyber Security Operations team and manage highly complex or high priority incidents.

ABOUT YOU

You have built a wealth of experience in monitoring, analysing, managing incidents and implementing protective controls to address security threats for large complex organisations.

As a highly skilled security engineer, you must have demonstrated experience in two or more of the following security domains: Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Security Orchestration and Response (SOAR), cyber incident management, crisis response, digital forensic investigations, DevSecOps, application/ hardware security, cloud security, Microsoft 365 security and network security.

You have impeccable communication skills, are analytical, influential, organised and solution driven. You enjoy building trusting relationships, collaborating with your team and taking initiative. You will thrive in a changing environment and will relish the opportunity to develop and implement innovative, contemporary and sustainable technology solutions.

Crucially, you are someone who shares the TAFE NSW Values of Integrity, Collaboration, Excellence and Customer First.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Degree qualification in related field or equivalent significant experience
  2. Significant experience monitoring, analysing and addressing technology systems security threats and incidents and implementing protective controls.
  3. Ability to address and meet focus capabilities as stated in the Position Description

HIGHLY REGARDED

  • Extensive, demonstrated hands-on experience in two or more of the following security domains: Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Security Orchestration and Response (SOAR), cyber incident management, crisis response, digital forensic investigations, DevSecOps, application/ hardware security, cloud security, Microsoft 365 security and network security.

  • One or more certifications such as MCSE, CISSP, GPEN, GCIH, GCFA, GCPN, CCSP, CSSLP

WHAT YOU’LL RECEIVE

This position offers a base salary of $159,035 p.a plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
