Coliban Region Water Corporation is based in Bendigo and is one of the largest Victorian regional urban water corporations. Our service area covers 16,550 square kilometres including 49 towns and is at the southern gateway to the Murray-Darling basin – Australia's food bowl. We manage, maintain and operate over 34 reservoirs and water storage basins and provide water and waste services to both urban and rural customers.

About the role

The Rural Services Coordinator is responsible for the maintenance, monitoring and operation of all the rural distribution networks to achieve established service levels, environmental stewardship, metering compliance and achieve quality outputs consistent with budget and key performance indicators and service standards.

Role responsibilities include:

  • Effectively supervise the rural networks workforce and resources to operate and maintain the channel systems.
  • Manage the financial performance of the Rural department including the preparation of annual budgets and provision of month expenditure.
  • Supervise the operations of the workforce ensuring OHS and environmental requirements are met and fostered within the workplace.
  • Represent the business in reasonably complex discussions and negotiations with customers and suppliers whilst providing reports on various deadlines and complex issues.
  • Manage the engagement and use of contractors and control the use of all hired plant equipment.
  • Plan, organise and control activities to ensure that all work is completed on time.
  • Ensure the output of the work groups is achieved in accordance with scheduled requirements and customer expectations

To be the successful candidate you must address the selection criteria, as well as;

  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of the rural water supply in our region, with supervisory experience in either maintenance, operations or the water industry considered an advantage.
  • Ability to demonstrate mechanical aptitude in operating or maintaining assets and infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to lead, develop and challenge work teams to achieve objectives and high levels of performance
  • Technical, analytical and organisational skills to interpret system faults and arrange rectification
  • Skills in the development and implementation of new practices to improve system operations and reduce expenditure.
  • Conflict resolution skills are required to resolve work practice issues.
  • A current Victorian Driver's Licence


The salary and conditions for this position will be as per the Coliban Water Enterprise Agreement 2017 Band 4 $86,424 - $95,358 Salary range will be offered to the successful candidate commensurate with their skills and experience.
