Job Description


We are looking for an experienced Transport and Operations Manager to join our Resources and Industrials division and be based at our new site at the port of Townsville.

The remit for this role is management of heavy vehicle road train operations and transport and management of equipment unloading at the mine sites. You will directly manage a team of 10+ and liaise with the North QLD Manager on the running of day to day operations.

To be considered for this position your experience will include:

  • People Management including allocation of assetts and performance monitoring
  • Transport Management
  • Customer liaison
  • Overseeing of cost and returns
  • Reporting using Excel and a Maintenance and compliance tool
  • Driving strong safety initiatives

Qualifications


To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification in logistics or business-related discipline or equivalent experience (highly desirable)
  • A least 5 years management experience in transport, logistics or related industry
  • Ability to communicate clearly the value Toll can deliver to business outcomes and the customer
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Demonstrated planning, prioritisation and organisation skills
  • Strong interpersonal/negotiation/diplomacy skills
  • Creative and innovative in approach to delivering services
