Access Community Services Limited (ACSL) is Australia's leader and specialist in settlement, employment, training and youth and social enterprises for migrants, refugees and mainstream clients, in Queensland, particularly in the South East. As a community based, not for profit organization limited by guarantee, we boast over a 30 year history of serving our local community which was originally established in Logan in 1984. Position Overview

The Emergency Relief Officer is responsible for delivering Emergency Relief through our partnership model. The role receives and assesses applications for emergency relief, working directly with the partners to improve the financial capacity of our clients and community. The role is also responsible for scoping new partners and brining then on board. Additionally, the role oversees the Financial Champions Professional Development program internally with a view to expand externally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and assess applications for Emergency Relief through the partnership model
  • Maintain relationships with partners, and actively find new partners
  • Monitor and maintain the monthly program budget
  • Oversee the Financial Champions Professional Development Program
  • Actively participate in reviewing and improving the program delivery model to meet community need
  • Other duties as directed from time to time within your skills range and capacity.

Selection Criteria

  • Tertiary or other qualifications within Community Services, Human Services or similar discipline.
  • Sound knowledge of the social services sector in QLD
  • Sound Knowledge of psychosocial and environmental factors which influence financial hardship in the local community
  • Highly developed computer skills across a range of applications including Client Records Management systems and communication technologies.
