Full Job Description
Opportunity for a mental health clinician to join our team in the beautiful town of Echuca on the banks of the Murray River.
Travel arrangements and financial support negotiable for the successful applicant to make the transition.
Successful applicant will have the opportunity to work across both Bendigo and Echuca sites.
2 year retention bonus negotiable with successful applicant.

Mental Health Lead Clinician

Classification: Registered Nurse (Grade 3), Social Worker (Grade 2) or Occupational Therapist (Grade 2)

Salary: $41 to $51 per hour plus superannuation dependent upon classification and experience.

Hours: Full time or part time can be negotiated.

Status: Permanent

About the Role

You will:
Make a difference to young people and their families with mental health challenges
Join a friendly and supportive team of multi-disciplinary professionals
Treat and support patients by providing psychiatric triage, intake, assessment, treatments and short-term interventions
Provide psycho-education and therapy for patients of Psychiatric Services and their families/carers
Formulate, monitor and maintain an Individual Service Plan for each patient in consultation with clients, families, carers and members of your team

Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) is a community based, multidisciplinary team that works with children and adolescents 0 - 18 years who are displaying serious emotional, relationship, personal care or behavioural disturbances that impact on family and social relationships and/or their functioning in school or the workplace.

Selection Criteria

01.Completion or commencement of a post graduate Diploma in Mental Health and/or related field (ie. Social Work or Occupational Therapy) OR completion of a specialist undergraduate Psychiatric Nursing program OR completion of education/training to be eligible for Division 3 Nursing registration.

02.At least two years’ experience working within a variety of mental health settings

03.Knowledge and experience working with the Victorian Mental Health Act (2014), the Child and Young People Act 2008, amendments, and knowledge of relevant state-wide Psychiatric Service Frameworks Procedures and Guidelines and Bendigo Health policy and procedures

04.Experience in child and adolescent mental health services or able to demonstrate an aptitude for such work

05.Demonstrated commitment and experience in an integrated community based treatment model for people with a mental illness and associated complex issues

06.Experience in liaising and consulting with relevant family members, team members, and a broad range of health professionals and community agencies

07.Demonstrated evidence of participation in education and training to other staff, and commitment to ongoing professional development

08.High level of organisational, leadership, communication and interpersonal skills with a sound ability to strategically prioritise work requirements/demands

09.Computer and data entry skills including the ability to query and extract specific information from databases
