Our Team & Opportunity

The Product Implementation team is responsible for managing project-related enterprise-wide projects and executing on new product launches, significant changes and terminations of investment products for Vanguard Australia. We partner closely with teams from across the business globally to assess and manage product structures and requirements, project deliverables, timing and dependencies and facilitate effective decision making.

We have a 6 month contract opportunity in the Product Implementation team to support our delivery of the superannuation investment component of Vanguards entry into the Superannuation market.

What you will do

The successful candidate in this role will support the Senior Superannuation Product Implementation Manager through assisting with:
Plan and manage the broad investment product implementation of Vanguard’s superannuation offering
Plan and manage all related sub-streams through all project lifecycle phases; from project planning, implementation and post-implementation review, leveraging Vanguard’s project management methodology.
Partner with colleagues across the business in order to ensure the effective and timely delivery of outcomes.
Develops strong working relationships to effectively influence outcomes.
Contributes to program management of Super investment product related projects.
Identifies opportunities for process improvement and design. Implements solutions in conjunction with business owners in individual business units (eg. Investments, Investment Operations).
Communicates with internal clients, team members, and management to ensure requirements and priorities are understood. Monitors project progress, and distributes reports to management and stakeholders.
Manages any changes resulting from product reviews and/or increased product capabilities effectively at an enterprise level. This includes working with and influencing individual business units, along with the broader Product team, to ensure effective change and the clear identification of specific roles & responsibilities.
Measures and maintains quality processes, satisfying stakeholder expectations, ensuring Vanguard standards of operating excellence are met and an optimal investor experience.

Skills - ability to demonstrate capability through experience across the following:

Project management - Leading/supporting complex projects across multiple business units and multiple stakeholders of all levels
Self-motivated - Ability to work autonomously and manage time to ensure prioritised outputs and timeframes are met
Organisation and Documentation - Highly organised and prepared together with the ability to create custom documents which are clear in purpose and effective in conveying critical information.
Stakeholder management - Excellent stakeholder engagement skills are required across all levels. The ability to tailor engagement and influence stakeholders to drive solutions.
Ambiguity - Ability to work through significant amounts of ambiguity across multiple levels.
Passion and curiosity to learn - As a product team we are eternally curious and driven by a passion to understand more and apply our learnings at every opportunity.

What we are looking for

Demonstrated related work experience, including minimum two years’ experience in the investment industry (investment product and superannuation experience would be highly beneficial).
Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple tasks constituting a program of work. Clear evidence of the ability to integrate/manage large and complex project activities according to schedule and quality measures.
Strong stakeholder management skills with demonstrated experience managing across large diverse organisations across all levels of management.
Strong knowledge of investment management industry particularly in the Superannuation space and awareness of developments and trends.
Self-motivated operator with the ability to work autonomously and manage time and outputs effectively.
