Job Summary

The JAPAC Cloud Engineering Center of Excellence (CE CoE) is a new regional organisation across Japan and Asia Pacific whose role is to accelerate consumption of Oracle Cloud Services by providing a world class customer experience on the Oracle Cloud. Customers will have access to cutting edge and deep technical subject matter expertise and solutions. The organizational structure of CoE will be based on Technology Domains such as Infrastructure, Packaged Applications, Custom Applications, Data Management, Analytics and Others which in-turn will have the subject matter experts within the domains.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate with a strong technical background to lead new Strategic Initiatives within the Process and Systems team in the JAPAC CoE. This is to ensure and align the CoE with Gen-1 Customers, Partners, Developers and Key Account initiatives, defining engagement models, programs and building virtual cross-domain teams to deliver services once defined. Success is measured providing the field and customers with world class technical subject matter expertise and drive the following outcomes

Skills and Profile

Strategic thinker, comfortable with ambiguity, who enjoys developing new programs, new channels, building virtual teams to expand the reach of new IT solutions.
High level of commercial business acumen to effectively position Oracle solutions and why they offer superior TCO vs competition
Experience in working with large corporate clients seeking to migrate to the cloud and building tailoured migration programs to support them.
Successful track record of working with partners in a technical account management/technical architecture role.
A keen understanding of the latest technology trends and passion for technology with a particular emphasis on cloud trends.
Enjoys being hands on in particular experimenting with new and innovative technologies. Has a developer mindset and knows how to create thriving developer communities.
Ability to co-ordinate and streamline multiple internal stakeholders in the delivery of GTM plans, technical enablement, support to partners.
Can demonstrate technical leadership in at least one major emerging technology trend of interest to developers.
Domain expertise in one of database, analytics, infrastructure with specific reference to OCI.
A keen understanding for how cloud native applications are architected to deliver rapid CI/CD delivery cycles.
Expertise in the migration issues associated with a move from Oracle OCI-C to OCI.
Experience in tools that help to automate the migration of solutions to cloud in general and OCI specifically.
Experience with Agile and SCRUM-based projects or working with rapid and iterative technical design/implementation projects

Management/Functional Competencies

At least 12 years of IT solutions development and delivery expertise in a management role of which at least 5 should be in managing teams that focus on helping customers migrate to the cloud.
Experience in building high-performance virtual teams with diverse skills to deliver new programs to encourage partners and developers to use cloud solutions.
Excellent communication and presentation skills and highly comfortable speaking across all levels of management and technical audiences
Build strong relationships with HQ Engineering/Product Management teams to be a customer advocate with HQ Development on required enhancements or in support escalations

Roles and Responsibilities

Devise new programs to scale CoE Services by reaching new and important channels
Liaise with internal groups within Oracle responsible for partners, developers, key accounts and CoE domain leaders to develop new programs to showcase and scale CoE services.
Build momentum by ensuring customers/partners first experience on OCI is successful and referenceable.
Use creative online and offline approaches to expand reach and thought leadership around OCI and its key differentiators.
Leverage existing CoE assets as integral part of the services and offerings made to new channels

Build Virtual Cross-Domain Team formation to address the needs of new programs/channels
Build diverse virtual teams of cross domain architects for a specific program/objective with clear goals and enabled to succeed.

Cross-collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
Ensures the Cloud Engineering CoE Team builds effective collaboration with the necessary xLOB Oracle teams such as Cloud Sales, Regional Cloud Engineering, Oracle Consulting, ACI, ACS, GTM-BD, Product Engineering & Management Teams, Customer Experience Team, Oracle Support and others
Build strong links with the Oracle HQ Development organizations.
Support the Regional Cloud Engineering teams in strategic initiatives and engagements

Governance & Compliance
Leverage existing CoE processes and assets that improve the scale, repeatability and quality of customer engagements.
Manage optimal utilization of resources across the engagement lifecycle
Ensure these tasks are updated and tracked in the defined systems

This role reports to the Manager Processes and Systems, JAPAC Cloud Engineering Center of Excellence (CE CoE). This role is based in Australia

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Provides direction, leadership, and specialist knowledge to Cloud Solution team in designing, demonstrating and deploying Oracle Cloud architectures that address customer business problems. Guides team to drive Oracle Cloud customer consumption through accelerating the adoption of Oracle cloud services.

Responsible for managing resources that work with customers, sales, engineering, and product teams to design and implement cloud solutions for customers. Establishes business objectives, metrics and plans to ensure attainment. Provides leadership on technical cloud solutions and customer success. Identifies gaps and enhancements to influence engineering roadmaps for customer driven features. May deliver presentation demonstrations to high level customers and at conferences and events. Maintains expertise by staying current on emerging technologies. Manages the implementation of solutions and ensures successful deployments by providing direction on code development and scripting. Oversees the support of customers from Proof of Concept (POC) through production deployment of services, management of resource configuration, planning, and customer education/training. Acts as spokesperson for Oracle cloud and an escalation path for relationships.

Minimum qualifications include: 7 years experience with computer applications and tools required. Ability to travel 50% international and domestic. Preferred but not required qualifications include: Bachelor of Science-level university degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering from accredited university; and/or relevant 7 years technical experience. Advanced degree in relevant field of studies highly desirable. 3 or more years of previous relevant technical management experience with computer applications and tools. Expertise in and an in depth and thorough knowledge of competitive and industry knowledge in the field of computer applications and tools; System and application design; Implementation of advanced product features; Project management; Solving technical problems with customers in technical environments; Written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. 8 years experience and expertise in the clear communication of technical information to others through presentations, demonstrations, written communication and consultative solutioning experience.
