Senior Business Financial Crime Risk Manager

The role will report to the WPB Head of BFCR (Wealth & Personal Banking, Head of Business Financial Crime Risk) and is responsible for CDD (Customer Due Diligence) related program implementation and related projects & tasks. The purpose of this role is to ensure HSBC can provide the highest possible standard of customer journey, from onboarding to ongoing transaction monitoring to customer selection and exit management (CSEM). The jobholder will also ensure WPB have a robust customer KYC (Know Your Customer), CDD and EDD (Enhanced Due Diligence) program and be responsible to manage the overall CSEM process for WPB.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Provide KYC/CDD/EDD related guidance to WPB teams for adherence to both internal and external directives from ‘Second Line of Defence’ including but not limited to FCC; AML; Sanctions teams
  • Prepare, escalate and present financial crime risk related controls issues and actions for Financial Crime Risk Management Committee
  • Provide timely implementation of local policies and procedures in the event of Group Policies or local regulatory changes, including but not limited to commence gap analysis, localization, securing endorsement from 2LOD and communication to the wider WPB network.
  • Oversight of any new or revised policies and procedures relating to Local and Global initiatives by WPB Business units and act as the subject matter expert on identifying or mitigating risks as required
  • Work closely with all stakeholders including local Compliance Advisory, Business frontline, GSC (Global Service Centre) operation team, ASP region and Group function line.
  • 1LOD contact point to provide guidance to all WPB teams on KYC/CDD/EDD.

  • To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Degree holder is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of retail banking processes, in particular on customer KYC, Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions.
  • Subject Matter Expert in KYC, CDD, EDD
  • Prior experiences in Process Review, Service & Operations and/or Product Governance are preferable
  • Strong analytical skills
  • High degree of credibility and integrity
  • People management experience preferred

  • Candidates for this role will need to demonstrate they hold Australian or New Zealand PR/Citizenship or working rights given current international travel restrictions
